Our client is a global company specialized in the manufacturing and selling of electric and electronic systems and leader in Air conditioning solutions. To strengthen their Brussels' team, they are looking to recruit a Regulatory Affairs and Environmental Specialist. The position will mainly deal, but will not be limited, with HVAC technology with a strong focus on refrigerants products.

HVAC systems and their refrigerants are a highly regulated matter both at the environmental and energy saving level. In this regard, the first responsibility of the Regulatory Affairs specialist will be to monitor the EU regulations/policies related to the company's products. He/she will inform and support the EMEA region in these matters and will, among other things, be responsible for the writing of regular news letters. He/ she will also perform any needed compliance tasks such as reporting product data to authorities. Another aspect of the job will be to help prepare advocacy strategies on diverse sets of policies relevant to the company and its products. In this regard, the role will assist with the development of advocacy papers based on robust evidence and solid argumentation. This will involve strong research and documentation work based on both primary and secondary information. Finally, the role will include a large environmental scope by helping in the organization of company-wide environmental meetings, by providing ISO 14001 compliance assistance and other environmental tasks.
For this role, we are looking for a candidate with a scientific background, ideally in chemistry and engineering. A first experience in a similar position, dealing with legislation matters or REACH or environmental management would be desired. Good writing skills and good communication skills in general are essential. Fluency in English is a must, knowledge of French or Dutch is an asset. The role will include an intensive training program on the company's product in Japan at the headquarters of the company and manufacturing plants. The planning of the training can be arranged but will in any case necessitate a stay abroad of several weeks in a row.
